Synopsis:
A Chance in the World is the unbelievable real life story of Steve, a wounded and broken boy destined to become a man of resilience and vision. From the day he is five-years-old and dropped off at his foster home of the next eleven years, Steve is mentally and physically tortured by Betty (his foster mother), Willie (her husband) and his foster siblings. Desperate for a sense of family and belonging, Steve searches for his biological parents, but no one in the system can help him. No one can tell him why, with obvious African-American features, he has the last name of Klakowicz.

  2. What I can never understand that how can they send a child back to the home that they are getting abuse until they investigate, I'm so happy because your a surviver to teach and help others God bless you.

It did say that it was actual events but anyway it's true of most foster homes they lie to case workers and they mentally abuse u I didn t get whipped but the mental part of it was horrific but I grew up and didn t let it define me I grew up and lived a most wonderful lie I had things that wasn t always so good but I was strong I jump up put my big pants on and hit it right I have strength and my father God that's the best I have in life

Acts of to John Sykes I really like the way you stepped in and be that family figure that Steve really needed he was threw up in and out with Steve with the books and things that you would like to say to him things that he knows going on he just knew the right book to give to Steve so that he could at least see what was going on in his life there are good people in the world and everyone that was involved in taking care of Steve after he left the arrow that he lived in beautiful story thanks for sharing

  7. I have the same story as this boy the only difference is that I know whom my biological parents are but they gave me to some rich family. My childhood was hell
    I wanted to Write my childhood story but I just don't know where to start and how to start. I feel like no one will ever see my pain.🥺 I had no one to help me out from that hell.

  8. I cried for the suffering of Steve, and the story touched me but lastly i was so happy to see Steve happy again. thanks to the teacher Mr. John and social workers.
    We need good people in our society who can take care for needy.

  9. I am SOOOO happy he got outa there anD I know therE are still kids being abused. THE LADY WHO SAID THIS IS NOT A TRUE STORY. PRETTY SURE SHES NEVER BEEN ABUSED. ~~~~ And they won’t call the 800 number cause they are scared like I was

  10. Steve had a HARD childhood. I really am thankful for the teacher, first the book he gave him to read (help him develop that courage to speak) and then he took him in, giving him a home. 🙏 The value of a "teacher" .
    Man inhumanity man. Only Jehovah can solve our problems.
