Reviews:
“I did enjoy Acts of Desperation and it made me stop what I was doing to actually watch it through. I did see this movie several months ago and have been thinking about the best way to talk about it. I wanted to leave this review simply because there are no reviews on Letterboxd yet for it!

Acts of Desperation is rough around the edges due to the budget and it has a dodgily melodramatic climax, but overall I thought this was an interesting black comedy with a touch of crime thriller elements. The movie is basically an ensemble about several characters whose lives intertwine in sometimes surprising ways over the course of a couple of days in Los Angeles.

What made me actually pay closer attention to the movie was that it was actually funny! So many modern movies have such an annoying, try-hard sense of humor but I actually enjoyed much of the humor in Acts of Desperation. The noble bank robber character was good and pretty funny, but I loved the two van-living buddies Floyd and Stu. The three of them definitely carried sections of the film.

I feel like I’m just rambling on but this is a good indie movie to support if you’re into these kinds of things. Worth a look and it’s free on Tubi.”
