I'm very surprised to see so many comments saying the mother is weak (and suggesting that, as such, she deserves what she gets). I wrote the original screenplay for this film, and in its original version she was much more passive. But, is it a crime to be weak? Does she deserve abuse because she doesn't know how to fight back? I mean, this is an abused woman, and some viewers seem to think it's worse to be a victim than to be guilty. Yeesh! I thought Bea was a somewhat exaggerated character, perhaps outlandish (my script was much darker but also more schlocky). Turns out a lot of people share her attitude.

Seriously! To be under the guise of a safe haven only to turn out 10x worseAND SHE A WOMAN! I was hoping to see her skinned, then covered in honey and tied to a fire ant mound, but she caught Karma eventually.. Poor mom still warped enough to quickly fall back into the familiar obedient role, unfortunately giving daughter legacy tips. Intensive counseling is only the START to deprogram them. Glad Mr. police wasnt dim, matter fact, he was rather slick keeping his hand close to his chest

I wrote the original screenplay for this. It was altered substantially, but there's bits and pieces that are recognizable. It's fun to see it's had so many views.
You see a damn woman gagged and tied up and you telling the lady you are leaving. You see the police pull up and she says for you and your daughter to go upstairs. Instead of saying something to the damn police, you and your daughter stupid ass go upstairs. It took almost a whole hour for something exciting to happen in this damn movie.
