    ✅ Why “Rogue” (Tom Lone) killed Crawford at the end
    Even though Tom Lone and John Crawford were partners and friends, Tom kills Crawford because Crawford betrayed him — indirectly but seriously.
    Here’s exactly what happened in the story:
    💠 1. The REAL reason Tom Lone’s family was killed
    The hit on Tom Lone’s family was ordered by the Triads, but they succeeded only because Crawford leaked information.
    Crawford had been secretly working with the Triads for money.
    He didn’t know he was endangering Tom, but his cooperation allowed the gang to:
    • locate Tom Lone
    • identify his home
    • plan the attack
    • send Rogue to kill him
    So, from Tom’s point of view:
    Crawford’s corruption caused his wife and daughter to be murdered.
    He didn’t pull the trigger, but he was part of the chain that made it possible.
    💠 2. Crawford’s guilt
    When Crawford confronts Tom at the end, he admits that:
    • he had been bribed by the Triads
    • he passed sensitive information
    • he didn’t realize his actions would lead to the murder of Lone’s family
    • he has felt guilty ever since
    • he wants forgiveness
    This is why he breaks down emotionally and says:
    “I’m sorry… I didn’t know…”
