A different kind of film that would cater to a niche audience, competently made and acted, a filmaker's very personal coming of age story, I suspect.
something to be said about getting away from Hollywood, never know what gems you might find. Superb acting.

My father in law was a cartographer and he used to tell us stories about all the funny things they'd put on the maps they're drawing or shortcuts they'd take. We have lots of copper, engraved plates and they're so beautiful .
I’m trying to escape Netflix. They seem to think I only like assassins movies where the main character has amnesia or has developed a conscience. This is a smidge too art house for me yet, but I pretty much enjoyed it anyway.
The main thing I learned is that Rebecca Gibney does a banging kiwi accent because she’s a kiwi. Are any of our great Aussie icons actually from Australia?
Kiwis have a real talent for capturing the reality of life; dysfunctional families, abuse, coming of age, etc. Kudos!
