  1. The opening was really the only good part of this movie; I was hoping for something embracing the camp and silliness of other horror anthologies like Creepshow (especially with a title like “Very Frightening Tales”), but the shorts within this feel so generic and disjointed in terms of tone, presentation, aspect ratio, etc. in comparison to the opening, especially with The Delivery starting not only with a dedication, but a title card not even half a minute after the first title card for The Delivery! (The two title cards issue also applies to Fortune.)
Also, why do the title cards starting with Slice’s have the shorts’ aspect ratio instead of being in fullscreen like the prior ones? The editing of that head stab in Slice is also very choppy and the switching aspect ratios in A Dance with Death are poorly done. Though, I found these two to be the better shorts of this whole movie.

  2. I love older horror anthologies but the newer ones like this always disappoint me. Tales from the crypt, the twilight zone, and night visions are so much better.
Edit: even the older kid ones are better-are you afraid of the dark, haunting hour, eerie Indiana..SO good, even if you’re an adult.

  3. "Fortune" is the best story, in my opinion. Definitely a twist to what I thought it would be about. Interesting & satisfying from an ethical viewpoint (as far as justice in the horror realm, I guess?) And that is Sally Struthers, isn't it? 😉
